This is my third attempt to post a comment on your blog, as it took my husband's help to figure out how to do a profile. Enough, already! I was one of your two judges at the 2013 Howard County Fair. You entered three spectacular items, and all three got Blue Ribbons. Your Vanilla Macarons with Peach Buttercream also garnered a Champion ribbon. You absolutely deserved it. Your neatness, attention to detail, and delicious products were the hit of the Teen Baking category. They probably would have surpassed items in the Adult Baking as well. Please enter again next year. Quiet by accident, we met this morning while picking up our entries and ribbons (I know first hand how difficult it is to win ribbons; my family had 34 entries in various categories--art, crafts, food, produce). Thank goodness your mom told me about your blog. I have enjoyed perusing it and fully intend to become a pro at making macarons, starting with your recipe. Your directions are very clear and concise, and your photos take away any doubt about what to expect. Plus, your work site is so-o-o clean (hey, we judges have to taste the entries)! I see a literary career in your future; maybe editor of Cook's Illustrated? At the very least, you need to write a cookbook. With the professionalism of this blog, you're half way there!!! Thanks for being part of this year's fair
Thank you for your kind encouragement! I'm glad you enjoyed my fair entries, and that you found my blog. Also, I look forward to baking again for the fair next year!
